Although the regular marching season has come to an end for most of us, the show goes on with our indoor guard, Valiant! This group of talented women have been competing all around Virginia and North Carolina since 2018 with a brand-new show each year. For this season, the pandemic has proven that some activities have to be altered in order to protect others and reinforce safety. Their first competition, this Monday, March 1st, will be done virtually to avoid the possible spread of COVID-19 through travel. Valiant’s members are excited to still be able to do what they love this year while being safe through efforts such as social distancing and wearing masks during rehearsals.

Like this past year, Valiant has begun posting clues on social media as a way to get the public excited about the theme of this year’s show. With each new clue also comes a spirit day for Valiant’s members to dress up and celebrate their show in a fun and creative way.

“With our first virtual competition coming up this Monday, we are posting hints about what our show theme is this year as a fun game for our audience. To celebrate the occasion, we have been having spirit days every practice this week, from dressing in neon to wearing pink on Wednesday to pay tribute to the Mean Girls movie. We have been working hard this season to put on a show we can all be proud of, and we can’t wait to share it with everyone! We have faced challenges none of us could have expected, but we have managed to still have a successful season so far.”
